Aim

This module is aimed at senior consultants who manage a resourcer. The module aims to give them the core skills and techniques to effectively manage their resourcer and increase their performance as a result.

Objectives

During this module participants will have the opportunity to…

  • review your role and responsibilities - how are they changing?
  • look at how to balance billing with managing a resourcer
  • discuss what motivates individuals – in relation to yourself and others
  • identify the key stages in the Work Cycle, including
    • defining a statement of purpose
    • setting SMART objectives
    • monitoring performance against objectives
    • giving feedback on performance
  • consider how to develop your resourcer, focussing on using coaching skills
  • identify how hands on or hands off to be with your coaching/management style
  • look at some practical guidelines for planning and prioritising

The event will be participative with a variety of training aids used to cater for the differing learning styles likely to be present in the group. To ensure the opportunity to learn is maximised roleplays will be used. Respecting the need for confidentiality delegates are invited to share their experiences in this area and to ask questions at any time.
