This course is aimed at anyone who wishes to develop their interviewing skills and help them achieve better interview to placement ratios.

  • Consider the difference between Standard and Competency based interviewing
  • Identify the key steps in preparing for an interview
  • Consider the importance of using clear job descriptions and person specifications
  • Look at how to structure the interview effectively
  • Explore how to qualifying the candidate’s ability to do the job by
    • Using evidence based questioning
    • Ensuring all questions are non discriminatory
  • Consider how to qualify a candidate’s motivation to move
  • Identify how to manage unrealistic expectations in a candidate
  • Explore the impact of non verbal communication in an interview
  • Consider how to sell a candidate to a client effectively
  • Practice their interviewing skills

The event will be participative with a variety of training aids used to cater for the differing learning styles likely to be present in the group. Respecting the need for confidentiality delegates are invited to share their experiences in this area and to ask questions at any time.
