Handling Disciplinaries and Grievances
Aim
The aim of the event is to develop the skills of the participants to use capability and discipline procedures and in particular developing confidence to take early and effective action
Objectives
During this course the participants will have an opportunity to…
- consider the benefits of having procedures in these areas
- gain an overview of the Policies and Procedures and their inter-relationships when managing staff
- identify best practise and the key actions to take to ensure matters are dealt with reasonably and fairly
- identify the importance of taking action at an early stage and how this prevents issues escalating
- consider the reasons why managers may not deal with situations that arise and the implications of not doing so
- identify the skills needed in this area
- practice the skills identified via case study work
The event will be participative with a variety of training aids used to cater for the differing learning styles likely to be present in the group. To ensure the opportunity to learn is maximised roleplays will be used. Respecting the need for confidentiality delegates are invited to share their experiences in this area and to ask questions at any time.
