About Focal Point

Managing Appropriate Workplace Behaviour
Aim
To provide participants with the knowledge and skills to ensure they fulfil their responsibilities with regard to appropriate workplace behaviour and by doing so avoiding potential claims arising from inappropriate behaviour
Objectives
During the session participants will have an opportunity to…
- Consider what is and what isn’t appropriate workplace behaviour
- Banter or verbal abuse?
- The thin line between humour and offensive comments
- Showing respect to colleagues
- Consider their responsibilities to ensure their own behaviour is appropriate at all times
- Consider how we need to handle our own prejudices and how they affect our behaviour in positive and negative ways
- Understanding the impact of language when considering whether behaviour is appropriate or not
The training will be participative and will utilise a variety of training aids. The sessions will be confidential at all times. Participants are therefore encouraged to share their experiences in this area and to ask questions at any time.
